The York County Education Association, a local chapter of The South Carolina Education Association, is an organization established to work for the welfare of school children, for the advancement of education, and for the improvement of instructional opportunities for all. We strive to unify and strengthen educators in all positions in all ways necessary to support the profession. We offer a way to enable members to speak with a unified voice on matters pertaining to education and to present their individual and common interests before the SC Board of Education and other legal authorities. The YCEA cooperates with civic bodies and community organizations having educational objectives, and aid in interpreting to the public the problems, the functions, and the progress of our schools. It is our primary function to encourage educators to exercise their rights and privileges as citizens, and to accept, willingly, leadership in civic affairs. We are governed by a Constitution and By-Laws.
